Tata Structura YST 355 high-strength steel hollow sections are made from Tata Steel hot strip mill HR coils, with a yield strength of 355 MPa and UTS of 490 MPa. The better strength-to-weight ratio can save up to 40% steel versus conventional angles or channels and up to 20% versus local hollow sections; YST 310 is also offered. The square hollow sections are typically used in exposed columns, trusses and purlins of large sheds, heavy machine supports and solar torque tubes.
